What Is an Air-Cooled Industrial Chiller?Product Overview

An air-cooled industrial chiller uses a compressor and an air-cooled condenser to lower the temperature of circulating cooling water and deliver it steadily to production equipment, with no cooling tower required. Plastic processing needs precise temperature control at every stage, from material melting and molding through to cooling and solidification. Unstable water temperature can cause dimensional variation, surface defects or shorter mold life, which makes a stable supply of cooling water one of the foundations of process quality.

How an Air-Cooled Chiller WorksHow It Works

  1. 1 Compression The compressor pressurizes low-pressure refrigerant gas into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas.
  2. 2 Condensation (air-cooled heat rejection) The air-cooled condenser rejects heat with fans; the refrigerant releases heat and condenses into liquid — which is why no cooling tower is needed.
  3. 3 Expansion The refrigerant passes through the expansion device, dropping in pressure and temperature so it is ready to absorb heat.
  4. 4 Evaporation (chilled water cooling) In the evaporator the refrigerant absorbs heat from the circulating water; the chilled water reaches the set temperature (±1°C) and is supplied to the process equipment.
